Featured Athlete Honors

Amy Randall

Amy is a sophomore from Renton, Washington and is studying to be a commercial pilot. Amy already holds her private pilots licence and is studying Aerospace Studies at ERAU while she seeks her certification from North Air. Amy is an amazing worker and has been a leader on the young team from the very beginning.

Amy has been an anchor is the Eagle defense and has been tasked to play several positions within the defensive structure doing all of them with confidence, competence and an eagerness that sets her apart. "She is the type of player who does exactly what she is asked to do. She is incredibly coachable and has been a spark for this team all season," commented Coach Luckett on this terrific player. Most recently, Amy has been asked to use her speed and mental game to play the center back for the three flat defense employed by ERAU. Her speed and tenacity has kept many balls out of the net, especially against Missouri Baptist where the shear speed of their frontrunners put them in front of the net very often. However, it was Amy that came running out of nowhere to get in the way of their shot.

"We are very lucky to have such a hardworking and dedicated player. She has been a cornerstone in our defense and has been one of the players that always gives 100% no matter the day or the circumstance. She is an asset to this program and I am excited about what the future holds," concluded Coach Luckett.

Sarah Barr

Sarah is a senior from Basalt, Colorado and is studying Aeronautical Science. She has been a force on the Women's Soccer team from day one with her abilities to train and work tremendously hard. She is constantly pushing others to work harder through her quite leadership of example. From the very first day of preseason training, Sarah has been the first person in on every run and has always been a driving force for the team both on and off the field. "Sarah can go forever and because of this we have moved her from the defense to the midfield. After this move, she began to ignite our offense and was actually the first player to score a goal for us in schools history," said Coach Luckett of this stellar student-athlete.

Probably the most exciting aspect of this athlete is that she has such a passion for soccer that she has decided to stay on for one more year and earn two more minors, one in Weather and the other in Business while she plays one more year of soccer. "Sarah's commitment to fitness is going to push those around her to work harder and train harder all summer," said Coach Luckett. "I am so thrilled to have her back for another year and look forward to what she will bring to the table both on and off the field.

Sarah now has two goals and one assist as an outside midfielder and will definitely continue to dominate in games with her intense work rate, her high energy play and her tactical awareness. Sarah brings so much to this young team both and and off the field and will inevitably continue to do so in the games to come.

Lindsey Ellis

Lindsey is a freshman from Puyallup, Washington who is studying Aerospace Engineering and one day would like to be a test pilot for the United States Air Force. Lindsey is a hard worker, who possesses the ability to run all day. She has been hindered with a few early season injuries, but has come back strong to show that she deserves a spot on the field. "I told Lindsey at the beginning of the year to be aggressive and out work her opponents," said

Coach Luckett. "And now, she is winning the ball and making a huge impact for us. She can stay with any team because of her fitness and when she wants to play and works for it, she is unstoppable."

Lindsey was a nominee for NAIA Regional Player of the Week after she scored two goals in ERAU first win against Mills College, one of which being the game winner. She is the leading scorer for the Eagles with three goals and will look to put her name in the record books with more as the season comes to an end. "I am excited to have Lindsey here for the next three years," said Coach Luckett. "She is very intelligent and loves the game. As she continues to improve and get healthy, she will definitely be a force for us in the future."

Alice Usher

Alice, a junior hailing from Thousand Oaks, California is a double major studying Aeronautical Engineering and Aerospace Science. She is a defender for the Eagles and has had a huge impact on the team both on and off the field. Usher began the season as the stopper in a diamond back defense and stepped up very strong to help control the middle of the field, especially by winning goal kicks, punts and 50/50 balls. She has since moved into the middle of a flat back four and has been the anchor in that defense both as a strong communicator and also as a dominant physical force.

Although the team continues to give up goals, it is obvious that drastic improvements have been made, especially in the defense. "Alice is the type of player any coach would want on their team," commented Coach Luckett "She is always asking questions and is looking to improve. She has become so much better as the season progresses and I am confident that it will only continue."

Even though she is a double major taking 18 units, Usher still asks coach Luckett everyday to come out and work with her individually so that she can become the best player she can. "Fitness was an issue for Alice in the beginning, but her concerted effort to improve has made her able to stay mentally and physically ready to play for ninety minutes," said Coach Luckett of Alice's work ethic above and beyond the allotted practice times. Alice will continue to improve and be a force for this young Eagle team, especially with her calm presence and her never quit mentality.

Melinda Lundell

Melinda hails from San Francisco, California and is a Sophomore studying to be a pilot. She is a tremendous worker and a very positive influence for the team, both on and off the field. She has been playing outside midfield for the Eagles this season and has worked incredibly hard to come back from an early leg injury to be an impact on the field.

"Melinda is a great leader and has done a wonderful job of organizing and creating a strong, positive environment for the team," commented Coach Luckett. "With a new team, it is vital to have solid leaders both on and off the field and Melinda has stepped up and is definitely one of those for us this season." Melinda always has a smile and a story to share with her teammates and is ready to support anyone at any time. We are happy to have her and her enthusiasm this season.

Amanda Ricthie

Amanda Ritchie, a freshman from Gilbert, Arizona, studying Aeronautical Engineering. "Ritchie is an incredible player who has brought enormous talent, knowledge and tactical awareness to the program," said Coach Luckett. Amanda has played multiple positions for the Eagles, but it is here ability to teach her fellow players that has set her apart thus far this season.

She has been a bright spot of the Eagle defense, organizing and anchoring a young and inexperienced group of players. She has also played in the midfield and has shown her ability to see the field and also find the open players creating passes and opportunities for the rest of the players."Amanda brings so much to the table and we are very happy to have her. As she continues to grow as a player and increase her fitness and work rate, she is going to be unstoppable," commented Coach Luckett.
